Following retirement after a 37-year career as a Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist, Lorrie has devoted much of her time to pursuing a second passion, that of advocating for youth wellness and safety. She volunteers with many organizations dedicated to this goal, such as Colorado PTA, where she is co-chair of the Health, Wellness, and Safety Committee, the Tobacco Free Jeffco Alliance, also serving as co-chair, Colorado School Safety Resource Center Advisory Board, Colorado Children’s Immunization Coalition, Jefferson County Public Schools Health Advisory Council Steering Committee, Jefferson County Public Health (JCPH) Communities That Care initiative, JCPH Food Policy Council Leadership Committee, JCPH Preventive Care and Behavioral Health Resources Coalition, and Smart Colorado Advisory Council.
