President’s Message

August 22, 2025

My name is Sarah Robirds and I am the Jeffco Council President for the 2025-2027 term. This Back-to-School season has me feeling excitement and a deep sense of purpose for the work ahead. Over the next two years, I believe our focus must be on making the Jeffco PTA the leading parent voice in our school district and I’m eager to partner with you to make that a reality.

I believe that advocacy is the most important work we can do at the local unit, council, and state levels. It’s the thread that should weave through everything we do, from our back-to-school nights to our fundraising efforts and school events. Every action we take should be centered on a commitment to creating school communities that are welcoming and supportive for all families, regardless of their background, socioeconomic status, capacity for volunteering, or the language they speak.

My vision for this term is to empower and uplift the needs of our students, families, and teachers, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to engage and fulfill their students’ potential. By leading with empathy and a dedication to equity, we can encourage and empower all families to be true partners in their student’s educational journey. Together, we can build a strong, united voice that advocates for every child in our district. I look forward to working alongside you and welcome questions and feedback as we embark on this new school year.

A few things that will help us on our journey to creating positive impact in our communities is our annual Fall Training for local unit officers and board members. I am thrilled to share that we will be holding this year’s training in-person at Creighton Middle School on October 18 from 9am-2pm. At this training you will fulfill your training requirement to be a unit in good standing, learn how to effectively run your PTA, and connect with other PTA members who share your passion for supporting our schools. We will be sending out a link to registration in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out!

I am wishing you all a wonderful school year ahead and look forward to the meaningful contributions we will make in our school communities!
